Caring for spaceship Earth
Our vision for sustainable prosperity traces back to the Kenneth Boulding and his path-breaking concept of “spaceship earth”. For Boulding, sustainability required the transformation of our increasingly globalised ‘cowboy’ society. As Boulding put it back in the 1960s: “We cannot have cowboys and Indians in a space ship, or even a cowboy ethic.” His seminal short essays on sustainability are still very much worth reading today:

In 2010, Earthmind was incorporated in France as a small business (EURL 524 715 349). The founder and executive director is Francis Vorhies.
Earthmind was previously established in Switzerland in 2006 as a not-for-profit association in accordance with Article 60 of the Swiss Civil Code. The board members of the association are Sarah French, Deborah Vorhies and Francis Vorhies. It maintains a small office at the IUCN Conservation Centre to host the Green Development Initiative.
