European Union of Aquarium Curators
For the inclusion of other aquaria, in other European countries, we might contact the European Union of Aquarium Curators; the general secretary is Nadia Ounais, chief curator of Monaco Aquarium, whom I know very well after working with her for more than 10 years, and the executive director is Paul Van Den Sand, former chief curator of Antwerp Zoo's aquarium paul.van.den.sande@euac.org, he is also a good friend. ... EUAC will be the best entity for deciding which European Aquarium would be more interested in working with IUCN on this project. [François Simard] http://www.euac.org/index2.html

The Aquarium of Genoa is managed by Costa Edutainment Spa, leader in Italy in managing sites, exhibits and large public and private facilities dedicated to recreational, cultural, and educational activities, as well as scientific research and study.
The Aquarium of Genoa’s mission is to create awareness among the general public of marine conservation and responsible management of aquatic environments. With this objective in mind, some lines of development have been created in a cultural and scientific environment with the goal of involving families, schools and employees in concrete actions aimed at saving marine ecosystems. "For my money the most forward thinking educationally minded of all aquaria is the Genoa Aquaria in Italy (not that I go to too many), and therefore it may be worth finding out what they are up to." L’Aquàrium de Barcelona
The largest aquarium in Europe, it contains 21 glass tanks positioned along either side of a wide curving corridor. Each tank depicts a different marine habitat, with emphasis on everything from multicoloured fish and corals to seagoing worms to sharks. The highlight is a huge "oceanarium" representative of the Mediterranean as a self-sustaining ecosystem. http://www.aquariumbcn.com/AQUARIUM/
